There I was in my ancestral home in India stuck during the Covid 2020 lockdown. I was missing the sense of community and interaction, my exhibitions and workshops all canceled and I had no clue when I would be able to get back. Scrolling through Wechat one day, I came across an interesting message about something called the Challengers Community, a community that did monthly challenges on various themes and kept you accountable. I thought “why not give it a try?” .
During that time, I had started writing a lot, since I needed an outlet to let out my emotions and thoughts, and the first challenge I joined was writing. It felt like such a comfortable safe space, interaction with people where there was mutual inspiration, support and encouragement. That was exactly what I needed. If the writing challenge helped, maybe others will too.
What about me leading/co-leading a challenge? No way. Not going to happen. Too scary. Staying a participant is fine. But for me, the urge didn’t stop. The curiosity to try took over the fear. Creating a group I wanted and giving people the same feeling I got from other group guides took over the doubt. And I started enjoying it!
So I continued, month after month, year after year. Time passed while having fun. Co-participants became friends and Challengers became a homely environment.
Want to feel the same way? Have a goal that you need accountability for? Want to step out of your comfort zone and thinking where to start? Need more info? Watch the video below and join Challengers Community today!
